About the artist ...

Born in Maine, Jennifer Daley Mitchell has always had a love for the ocean. As a young child, she would walk along the rocky shore of Pemaquid Point, collecting seashells and ocean treasures. It was a winning day when she found a piece of blue sea glass from a broken lobster buoy that had been sculpted by the wind, waves and sand.

Over the years, Jennifer’s collection of ocean treasures has grown with her travels to the French Polynesian Islands, Australia, Hawaiian Islands, Caribbean Sea, Sanibel Island, New England shores, and beaches along the California coast.

With the creation of her sand globes, Jennifer shares ocean treasures with you. She handcrafts each sand globe with carefully selected seashells, sea glass and dried sea life from around the world. Gently shake your sand globe and create a different beach every time!

Jennifer moved to California in 1989. She lives in Sunnyvale with her husband and daughter and is a Corporate Event Manager for a networking company in San Jose, California.

About the company ...

In September 1998, Jennifer and husband Garrick were married in Carmel, California. Carmel-by-the-Sea is often referred to as a place where the sky, sea and earth blend magically together into a portrait of natural beauty. Being the event planner she is, Jennifer made certain that the beauty of seashore was carried through this special event from sending a starfish with the invitation, to sending each guest home with a sand globe favor. It was the perfect gift to remind them of their special day and their love for the ocean, as well as giving each guest a lasting memory of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
